Help us to Help You

We love using our e-ticketing platform for our self-promoted gigs as it automates what was quite a labour intensive process for us, but we’ve had a few instances recently where people have not received their tickets in the email. Aside from the odd occasion where our emails have ended up in people’s junk & SPAM folders, the problem is almost always down to buyers mis-typing their email address. We do regularly check the logs for failed ticket emails and try to fix the problem in the background, but that usually means we have to send every individual ticket again by hand, which is quite a task if you’ve bought a lot of tickets in one go. Please always double-check that your email address is 100% correct before you finalise your purchase, and if you don’t receive your tickets by email within a few minutes contact us directly and we will try and find out what the problem is. We look forward to seeing you all at our upcoming events. Planet 80

We’ll be Back Soon

Those of you following our calendar will know that we’ve reluctantly had to cancel a couple of gigs recently because one of our band members has been out of action. Thankfully though, it’s all good news and he’s now on the mend so all being well, we’re hoping to be back out on the road in May. If you are holding tickets for one of our upcoming gigs you can be assured we will be keeping you informed and we’re looking forward to seeing all of you again as soon as we can. All the best – Planet 80!

Big TRACKS

We’ve been back in the rehearsal room through Jan and Feb getting some new songs ready for 2025 that we’re sure you’re going to love, but there are so many great tunes from the 80s we can’t do them all. What we’d love to know from each of you is what’s the one big track that gets you on your feet every time? The first person to name any of the new songs we’re currently learning will get a free Planet 80 T-shirt at the next gig they come to!

Celebrating Vanlife

We are super excited to announce that we will be headlining Friday night on the Big Top stage at the Vanlife and Overlander Celebration as part of their 80’s and 90’s themed weekend on the 25th of July!

Get ready for a fun-filled, nostalgia-packed weekend bursting with retro vibes, great entertainment, and plenty of laughs. We’re expecting to see some epic outfits on the day—think neon, legwarmers, grunge, and all things throwback! Whether you’re channeling your inner rockstar or rocking classic 80s and 90s style, it’s going to be a weekend to remember.

Check out the Vanlife and Overlander event website for full details tickets.

Here we come 2025

We’re planning some great gigs for 2025. After the success of our self-promoted events we are looking to do more this year in addition to agent and venue bookings so stay tuned to the website and social feeds to be the first to know when tickets go on sale. We’re back in the rehearsal room too through Jan & Feb to work on some new material, so we’re looking forward to seeing you all soon when we’re back on the road.

Tonight’s the Night

Tonight’s the night! We are back at Botley Market Hall again for another great evening of 80s music to entertain you. Here’s just a few reminders to make sure you have a great evening…

There is very limited parking at the Market Hall itself but there is a large car park behind the Dolphin pub next door. However be aware that restrictions apply to this car park so if you are going to be longer than 3 hours you will need to register your car in the pub, so maybe grab a drink in there first! There is also a large, unrestricted public car park about 5 minutes walk from the venue on Mortimer Road.

As before, there is no bar at the venue itself so feel free to bring your own drinks and snacks. There’s a Co-Op directly opposite the venue if you forget so you’ll be able to stock up there beforehand and during the interval. We can also recommend the CrackleRock tap room which does a great range of take-out beers. Ideally bring cans as broken glass on the dancefloor is never fun.

Tickets are almost sold out but there may be some limited walk-in tickets available on the door. However, to avoid disappointment we’d suggest getting them before you arrive as we expect to sell out like last time… Doors will open at 7PM and we’ll see you on stage at 8 so here’s to another great show 🙂
